About service in Eugene

Eugene sits at the southern end of the Willamette Valley in Lane County, where the Willamette and McKenzie rivers come together. Springfield lies just across the river to the east, and the two cities function as one metro. Spencer Butte and the South Hills rise above the city's southern edge, while the Coast Range lies to the west and the Cascades to the east.

The University of Oregon is the city's best-known institution and a major employer, and the campus area, Hayward Field and the neighborhoods around them generate a steady cycle of student rentals, move-outs and landlord turnovers. Older neighborhoods such as the Whiteaker, Friendly Street and Jefferson Westside have a mix of early twentieth-century houses and small cottages, while the South Hills hold mid-century homes on sloped, wooded lots. Remodels, tree work, fence replacement and yard debris cleanup are frequent requests.

Weather follows the valley pattern of wet, mild winters and dry summers. Rain adds weight to open containers, and summer brings outdoor events, including track meets and the Oregon Country Fair west of town. Wildfire smoke in late summer occasionally affects outdoor plans.

Haul & Hygiene does not maintain a Eugene office, yard or trucks. We coordinate with independent haulers and sanitation providers serving Lane County, and your provider confirms sizes, access and dates.
